NDIS Dietetics may be appropriate when a participant's disability affects eating, nutrition, food access, meal preparation, routine, health management or independence. Support is based on the participant's goals, needs and available funding.
The focus is not simply on providing nutrition information. Lily works to understand the participant's communication needs, sensory preferences, daily environment, support network, budget, food access, functional capacity and personal goals. Recommendations are practical, measurable and designed to be used by the participant and the people supporting them.
Review of intake, appetite, weight history, medical information, food access and nutrition risk.
Practical meal structures, shopping lists, low-cost options and routines matched to support availability.
Developing skills in choosing foods, shopping, simple preparation, label reading and meal organisation.
Clear guidance for families and support workers to implement nutrition recommendations consistently.
Shopping or food-environment education where clinically appropriate and funded.
Assessment findings, goal progress, recommendations and justification for ongoing supports where required.
Doveston Health aims to make referrals straightforward. Our administration team can confirm service availability, provide requested documentation, clarify appointment options and communicate with the nominated support team. Reports can be prepared when clinically required and within the agreed service arrangement.
